P102 - Analysis of Elias station's location & tunnel alignment

Requirements for Wafer Fab industries restrict the line from travelling too close.

We've received some questions on why Elias station must be located at the angle & location that was ultimately chosen. As such, we have done up some visuals and an analysis to help you better understand the factors that play a part in choosing a location for the station.

CR117 - Bright Hill update Q2 2023

29 June 2023 - A view of the Thomson-East Coast Line station exit with contract CR117 work
ongoing behind.

Penta Ocean's back in Bright Hill - formerly the contractor for contract T211 to construct Bright Hill Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) station and now the contractor for contract CR117 for the Cross Island Line (CRL) portion of the station. Over the past quarter, the work site has moved from a preparatory mode into one of proper construction. Site set up seems to have been completed and work is underway for the diversion of drainage lines. Works at the site have also involved a small road diversion and more equipment for the commencement of bored piling has turned up on site.

CRL1 & CPE - Official Telegram Channels

Telegram groups have become the new means through which the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has digitised its outreach to stakeholders with new rail projects. The messaging platform has been used as a uni-directional channel through which circulars and updates on the various construction contracts are pushed out to residents, businesses and commuters in the area where construction works are taking place. The first wide-spread adoption was undertaken by the Circle Line Stage 6 (CCL6) project and subsequently adopted by the Jurong Region Line (JRL) as well. It appears that the Cross Island Line (CRL) is using this as well. We attempt to consolidate the links for you to join the Telegram channels as well, which have been rolled out for CRL1 and CPE sections, for which all civil contracts have been awarded thus far. It is assumed that the same will follow for CRL2 once the contracts have been awarded and for CRL3 in due time as well.

N109A - Teck Ghee update Q2 2023

10 June 2023 - A view of excavation work being carried out within the construction area.

Contract N109A, under the North-South Expressway project, also includes the construction of a station box for the Cross Island Line (CRL) below the road tunnels. Utilizing the width of the excavated trench, the station will feature cripple sidings that run parallel to the platform - similar to those found at Fort Canning and Mattar stations along the Downtown Line. Work is progressing with excavation of part of the trench having commenced at various portions of the site. We are unsure if this is to facilitate the construction of the roof slab for a top-down construction method to be used later on.

CR113 - Serangoon North update Q2 2023

10 June 2023 - A view of the construction sites at Serangoon North.

Over at contract CR113, work has been picking up speed with the preparation of several sites completed and moving onto site set up with equipment being moved in. This contract is for the construction of Serangoon North station and does not involve any tunneling works, which will be carried out by neighbouring contracts CR112 to the east and CR115 to the west. The station itself occupies a fairly long site, with the eventual station stretching for about 700m, it is undoubtedly one of the longest stations and will involve a complex construction.
