CR211 - Further information

A screenshot from the webinar, showing Jurong Lake District station's Exit 3 design.

A recent webinar held online by the Bentley to market building information modeling software Synchro allowed viewers to obtain some additional information on Jurong Lake District station under contract CR211. The Cross Island Line (CRL) phase 2 station will be built with an initial 3 exits and two cut & cover tunnel sections on either side of the station. These are known as the Western Cut & Cover Tunnel (WCCT) and Eastern Cut & Cover Tunnel (ECCT).

Some other local projects that made appearances within the video were Defu station's contract CR111 and Pasir Ris station's contract CR108. You may watch the video for glimpses of the contract's tunnels and station building profile. We'll first take a look at some of the renders of the Jurong Lake District station that were shown but previously not available.

Exit 1 of the Jurong Lake District station. The flat roof may allow for a future building to be
sited above and integrated with the station exit.

Exit 2 - this render has been released in official press releases for the station.

Exit 3 of the Jurong Lake District station. It appears to be integrated with a cooling tower and
may also allow for future integration with a building.

Jurong Lake District station is intended to be built with 3 main exits during the initial phases of construction. Based on plans from the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), knock out panels should be provided for within the station to allow developers of surrounding sites to connect their developments directly to the station's concourse.

The brief video also allowed us to better understand the various stages of construction, associated diversions & potential timeline for these works.

Stage 0: Mar 2025 - site levelling commences
Stage 1A: May 2026 - slope excavation, diaphragm wall construction
Stage 1B: Feb 2027 - pile foundation construction
Stage 2A: Mar 2029 - installation of temporary decking
Stage 2B: Sep 2029 - backfilling works
Stage 3: Mar 2030 - surface level structural works, trackworks
Stage 4: Dec 2031 - road reinstatement
Completion: Jun 2032

possession and vegetation clearance works. As the site was a former golf course, leveling
works may need to be carried as well.

project offices along Jurong Town Hall Road, to be sited opposite the JTC Summit building.

Screenshot from YouTube video showing works under Stage 1A. The works will see the
construction of diaphragm walls and slope excavation.

relocation of existing utilities as well as the bus stop along the city-bound AYE.

walls for the project can be seen in yellow.

foundations for the station & tunnels. Works to construct these will be carried out under this stage.

the excavation trenches to facilitate further works.

struts will be installed progressively as the trench grows deeper.

place during this stage.

will see part of the ECCT covered and converted into a temporary staging area for track works.

focus on the surface level structures.

The video using 4D modeling software Synchro allowed us to better understand the planned timeline for the project's progress as well as the station's layout. However, do bear in mind that these are still subjected to further confirmation from the project team as well.
