Soil Investigation: Tavistock / Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park 2

We will soon be concluding our coverage of soil investigations along the Cross Island Line East (CRLe) section. However, till then, there are another 2 sites at which we have noted intense soil investigation works. One of these is at a location which we're referring to as Tavistock, which is located near Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park 2 and north of Serangoon Gardens.

Sightings of soil investigation boreholes go back as far as early 2017 at this particular location. According to the Master Plan 2014, published by the Urban Redevelopment Authority, the Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park 2 is zoned as a business 1 and business 2 zone that will be redeveloped. The area along the southern portion of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 is residential. Both zones create a substantial demand for public transit. In view that there have been intense soil investigation works in this particular area, it is highly likely that a station will be sited here.
