Soil Investigation: Clementi

The spread of Soil Investigations within Clementi as of 02 June 2018. The dates represent the dates the boreholes
and/or Soil Investigation works were seen and/or officially completed.

As work on the eastern leg of the Cross Island Line (CRL) ramps up, Soil Investigations along the western leg begins to show patterns of study. As can be observed within Clementi over the period of approximately 2 years, a number of boreholes have surfaced showing a possible route alignment option that has been pursued for further study.

2016.03.03 - Soil Investigation works near the Clementi MRT station

Transport Authority (LTA). The project description states Soil
Investigation works from Tuas to Changi.

The first Soil Investigation rig appeared in 2016 a stone's throw away from the existing MRT station on the East West Line. This was the only noticeable Soil Investigation within Clementi till a further borehole was dug right outside the Clementi Neighbourhood Police Centre.

As of 2nd June 2018, this borehole has since been removed. However, new boreholes were created in the nearby vicinity to obtain other samples in 2018.

A string of soil investigation rigs and boreholes were also noted stretching from the Block 379 Carpark along Clementi Avenue 5 through the Clementi Community Centre (CC) to Block 339 along the Ulu Pandan canal.

No borehole marker was left in this location.

From the soil investigations, it is likely that the Clementi interchange station will be sited along Clementi Avenue 4. A cluster of exits may be located near the junction of Clementi Avenue 4 and 5 with the line cutting through Clementi CC to run northwards to its next station.
