Thank you dear readers for putting up with the momentary hiatus over the last few weeks - some of us were involved in a family wedding of one of our siblings & the ensuing family reunion over in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We're now back to our regular reporting and with the recent road closure that took place along Pasir Ris Drive 1 yesterday, are back with more images to capture how things look before a further road closure along Loyang Avenue to facilitate the construction of the Cross Island Line (CRL) station under contract CR106 as well as the upcoming Loyang Viaduct.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has recently published the Environmental Impact Study (EIS) reports on their website. Within the reports were a few renders of Turf City and King Albert Park stations. Other details were also unveiled within the reports, such as the stations at Maju & Turf City potentially having cripple sidings integrated into the stations and a future knock out panel being provisioned for a "paid link" at Maju station. A heritage study report by the Urban Redevelopment Authority did not yield any other results.

Pre-construction: Clementi

2 October 2022 - A view of the existing East-West Line (EWL) station.

Clementi station was announced on 20 September 2022 to be an interchange along the second phase of the Cross Island Line (CRL). As one of the earliest established towns along the western corridor, along with neighbouring Queenstown, the town has become a popular place to live due to its proximity to various locations - be it institutes of higher education, hospitals or nature parks. Due to the older nature of the Housing & Development Board (HDB) blocks in the town, several have undergone redevelopment. Part of the Clementi CRL station site will utilize a section being vacated by existing HDB blocks.
