CR117 - Bright Hill Q1 2023 update

19 March 2023 - An overview of the eastern end of the contract site.

Contract CR117 was the last civil contract awarded for the Cross Island Line (CRL) phase 1, hence progress at the site is not as advanced as at other contracts awarded earlier, for instance Pasir Ris or Hougang. None the less, the site appears to have been cleared and preparatory works underway to commence earthwork for the construction of retaining walls.

We begin swinging to the eastern end of the Cross Island Line (CRL) phase 1, starting at Tampines North. The site has since been cleared and diaphragm wall works have commenced at the northern end of the station. Meanwhile other preparatory works are still going on further south in the station box.

Currently there is 1 hydrofraise machine and 1 clam shell grabber machine as well. Both are located at the northern end of the station, likely to begin constructing the diaphragm walls for the northern launch shaft. From here, tunnel boring machines will be launched to build the running tunnels towards Pasir Ris station.

N109A - Teck Ghee Q1 2023 update

19 March 2023 - An overview of the construction site of the station.

Teck Ghee was the first station whose civil contract was awarded under contract N109A, which was bundled together with construction works for the North-South Expressway project. The expressway tunnels will eventually sit on top of the station's roof slab, with the concourse & platform located below. We checked out how things were progressing at the contract N109A site mid-March.

CR116 - Ang Mo Kio progress as at Q1 2023

19 March 2023

On 19th March, the team took some time to visit a few of the Cross Island Line (CRL) phase 1 sites to check in on how the sites have progressed. Similar to the updates on the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) stages 4 and 5, we hope to do the same for the CRL 1 stations. We've kicked it off with some updates on Hougang and contract CR115's launch shaft, so here's an update for Ang Mo Kio.
