CR112 - Upcoming bus route amendments

28 July 2022 - The hydrofraise machine boom lifted into vertical position. This machine will be
used to dig trenches for the construction of diaphragm walls to enable excavation of the station box.

Things are starting to get busy at Hougang Cross Island Line (CRL) station site. Today, the hydrofraise machine was lifted into vertical position, marking a step closer to the construction of diaphragm walls for the station. It also means that we are a step closer to the eventual closure of Hougang Central (Minor). This is a stretch of road linking Hougang Central (Major) and Hougang Avenue 10, roughly parallel to the upcoming station. In view of this, there will be amendments to bus services that use Hougang Central (Minor) as detailed by operator SBS Transit today.

Recently while searching online, the team came across several renders of the Ang Mo Kio interchange station. As expected, major works are anticipated ahead of the station's construction. Several more exits will be added to the station complex, including a bridge parallel to the existing MRT line that will have active mobility features included.

CR108 - New flythrough by LTA

A previously released render of Pasir Ris station.

Today, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) released a new flythrough render of the Pasir Ris Cross Island Line (CRL) station. The flythrough video shows how the station's exits will be located conveniently around the residential neighbourhoods as well as how the new station will connect to the existing East-West Line (EWL) station. Notably, there will be 2 connections - similar to that on the EWL and Circle Line (CCL) at Paya Lebar. Unfortunately though, transfer connections at this station require more level changes than at Paya Lebar due to the deeper CRL station.

CRL Construction blog is expanding

A happy Saturday to all readers! We are happy to announce that we will be expanding our reach on a new platform that will allow us to provide more bite-sized, visual-driven chunks as a complement to fuller, meatier blog posts.

Don't worry - We will still be updating the blogs. Our new platform is an extension of the blog, allowing us to provide quicker updates as and when we have information to share - even when the content may not constitute a full blog post. What's more, unlike our blogs, the new platform will go beyond specific lines to encompass updates across all upcoming and existing lines.

Blogs will continue to provide more detailed news, construction and speculative writeups, as and when information on works and/or new sections of the lines become available.

As always, feel free to alert us of any developments by sharing photos, videos, writeups, and any other content. It is tough for us to be everywhere all at once, so we welcome tip offs, and will credit you for the material if we do put it up.

We are excited for the upcoming expansion and can't wait for you to journey with us. Stay tuned for the unveiling, and watch this space for further updates!
