After the update on Bright Hill in the west, we swing back to the east with a whopping update on Pasir Ris. Works are in full swing with diaphragm walling works commencing in the west and soon to commence in the east of the site as well. Road diversions have been completed and an upcoming long-term road closure is in the works.
EWL Station - Concourse level (Public area)
Modification works to the concourse level of the existing East-West Line (EWL) station are finishing up at the public area where newly remodeled shops created. The former shops at the area had to make way for the platform extension works to the south of the station but will soon be reinstated. However as of late-April, the shops have yet to be listed on SMRT's retail arm for tender.

EWL Station - Platform extension (south)
The EWL station is having its platform extended at both the southern and northern ends. Towards the end of the first quarter, the metal roof frame for the extension has begun to take shape looking quite similar to that of the one at Paya Lebar station, also an interchange station with a new underground addition.

Worksite at Pasir Ris Drive 1 & Street 51 junction
The worksite is where one of the ventilation buildings will be located once the station is completed. Unlike some of the other sites for this contract, this site looks pretty similar at the end of the quarter to how it appeared in the mid-quarter.

Pasir Ris Drive 1 westbound carriageway diversion
Towards the east of the contract site lies the cut & cover tunnel section. To facilitate these works, the westbound carriageway of Pasir Ris Drive 1 had to be diverted. The carriageway was pushed further south, nearer to the neighbouring HDB blocks. According to the town hall briefing held for Pasir Ris Central residents, noise barriers will eventually be installed to minimise noise and light disturbances to the residents.

Cut & Cover tunnel siteWith the westbound carriageway diverted, the eastbound carriageway then took over the former roadway vacated by the westbound carriageway, allowing for the takeover of the space vacated. Earthworks are in full swing with ground improvement taking place ahead of the targeted commencement of diaphragm wall works in May.
