The 26th of February is fast approaching and along with it, the closure of a section of Loyang Avenue to facilitate construction works for the Cross Island Line (CRL) and Loyang Viaduct projects. Ahead of the road closure, the SgMC team visited the site a few weeks back to capture some shots of the area before the change takes effect.

As part of the efforts to minimise the impact of the road closure, the southern part of the affected stretch is being converted into a bus-only sector. This section starts at the junction with Pasir Ris Drive 3 and ends just before Loyang Valley condo, with a slip road connecting to Loyang Way. Preparation works were in progress when the team visited on 11 February 2023.

Station construction on the other hand is progressing slowly with equipment coming in to several of the hoarded up sites and soil investigation occurring at others. There will be some tree felling and site preparation to be expected before contractor Woh Hup gets to the major works such as installation of the Earth Retaining & Stablising Systems.
