King Albert Park pre-construction 2022

31 December 2022 - A view eastwards along Dunearn Road

Not too long ago, King Albert Park was the site of a massive construction attempt underneath Bukit Timah Road. The roadway was diverted atop the canal and construction machinery was busy at work constructing the underground station for the Downtown Line (DTL). Those days now date back almost 8 years ago. But soon, it will be time to do it all again when works commence for the Cross Island Line (CRL). Works this round will be concentrated along Blackmore Drive, however. The team takes a look at the area before all the heavy works commence.

Currently 2 contractors have met the pre-qualification requirements and will be eligible to bid on the contract to construct the station - contract CR205. We eagerly await for the contract tendering to close and the eventual award to a successful bidder.
