On the 28th August, a portion of Hougang Central was closed to facilitate the construction of the Hougang interchange station. It has been about 2 weeks since the road's closure. Today, we take a look at the changes implemented and progress at this particular area of the site.

Seen from the northern end, the changes are pretty obvious as hoarding has gone up where the road used to be. A permanent pavement has also been constructed over the roadway to allow pedestrians to walk across with ease.

the Hougang Central interchange has since been
demolished.

Seen from the southern end, there are still on-going works as a road diversion of Hougang Central (Major) is being prepared. Hoarding has come down to unveil a newly diverted pedestrian foot path and accompanying bus stop. However, the roadway is not yet paved and is pending for the demolition of the existing pedestrian pathway so that paving can take place. Drainage is also being constructed further down to support the upcoming road diversion.
