The Tavistock station is one of 12 along the CRL's first stage which was unveiled by then Transport Minister Mr. Khaw Boon Wan at a visit to Bright Hill station on the 25th January 2019. Stretching over 29km, the first stage of the line is expected to be ready in 2030 owing to delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic which hit the country a year after the line's announcement.
Details of the much anticipated second phase of the line are expected to be announce within the year, as pre-qualifications for the civil contracts have closed.
