CRL1 - A snapshot in September 2023

Top (L - R): CR4 - Pasir Ris East, CR5/CP1 - Pasir Ris, CR6 - Tampines North

Our snapshot update for the Cross Island Line (CRL) phase 1 in the month of September 2023 is here. We have also begun the Q3 updates for some stations, so those updates will be more detailed than the ones reflected here. Nonetheless, do enjoy the brief update on the 9 contracts for September.

CR4 - Pasir Ris East (Contract CR107)
In a nutshell: Noise barriers have been completed at the site. Diaphragm wall works are concentrated at the launch shaft to be handed over to contract CR106. Read more here.

CR5 | CP1 - Pasir Ris (Contract CR108)
In a nutshell: Noise barrier installation works were underway in front of Costa Ris while Pasir Ris Central was being prepared to serve as an alternative route during the closure of Pasir Ris Drive 1. Diaphragm wall works continued at both the western crossover box & eastern cut & cover tunnels. Read more here.

CR6 - Tampines North (Contract CR109)
In a nutshell: Excavation work is underway at the northern launch shaft which will serve tunnel boring machines (TBMs) tunneling towards Pasir Ris. Diaphragm wall construction continues for the southern launch shaft that will serve TBMs boring towards contract CR110.

Large diameter bored tunnels – Paya Lebar Air Base (Contract CR110)
In a nutshell: Diaphragm wall construction and excavation works are being done concurrently at the launch shaft, site of Facility Building 3. At the reception shaft, preparatory work is underway.

CR7 - Defu (Contract CR111)
In a nutshell: Another road diversion has taken place, pushing the eastbound roadway south. Diaphragm walling works have commenced at the launch shaft at the western end of the station.

CR8 - Hougang (Contract CR112)
In a nutshell: Rebar installation was being done ahead of slab casting for the second level in the launch shaft. King posts were being installed at the northern site as well while diaphragm wall works continued at the southern site.

CR9 - Serangoon North (Contract CR113)
In a nutshell: Works have picked up the pace with the installation of noise barriers under way and the closure of pedestrian footpaths.

CR10 - Tavistock (Contract CR115)
In a nutshell: Roadway has been diverted, with the bus stop following suit at the end of the month. Heavy equipment has been moved in progressively on site.

In a nutshell: Diaphragm wall work continues at the various station exits.
