The first quarter of the year has seen quite a fair bit of activity at the construction site of Pasir Ris Cross Island Line (CRL) station. Within the first three months, the alignment of Pasir Ris Drive 1 was shifted closer to Costa Ris BTO precinct, the junction of Pasir Ris Drive 1 with Pasir Ris Central & Street 51 was reconfigured and diaphragm wall works outside block 571 saw a road diversion enacted.

At the eastern end of the construction site, the launch shaft was being readied for the next stage of construction. The top layer of rebar from the completed diaphragm walls was exposed to begin the construction of a capping beam, upon which additional decking could be installed later. The launch shaft will facilitate the launching of tunnel boring machines towards neighbouring Pasir Ris East station.

With the major changes to the site underway, further road diversions can be expected in the coming months as construction moves into the next stage. Residents can expect some closures of roadways and changes to the footpaths in the area as diaphragm wall construction pushes closer to block 540 & 540A and the eastbound carriageway of Pasir Ris Drive 1 gears up for another round of road diversions near the launch shaft.
