| 06 November 2022 - Work site at the heart of Serangoon North. |
Contract CR113 is for the construction of Serangoon North station. This contract does not include the construction of any tunnels, which will be done under neighbouring contracts CR112 to the east & CR115 to the west. Tunnel boring machines (TBMs) from both contracts however, will dock at the Serangoon North station. The TBMs will thereafter be brought back to the originating launch shafts and taken out.
As such, works for this contract are beginning to take shape with the site office coming up swiftly. Located at the junction of Yio Chu Kang Road and Hougang Avenue 2, the office is currently under construction whilst other site preparation works at the station site progress.

Near the town centre is where Exit 1 will be located. Site clearing works are ongoing here ahead of the future ramp up. Noise barriers and road diversions can be expected in time to come at the site.

With works at the site just commencing, there isn't too much change going on just yet. Contractor Hock Lian Seng held a small exhibition to explain the works to residents in the area on 12 November 2022. We'll be making a special post on the exhibition and posting pictures taken there - do stay tuned for that upcoming post.
