Today, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) released the first contract for Cross Island Line phase 2 (CRL2) for bid. Contract CR205 is for the design & construction of King Albert Park station which will allow transfers to the existing Downtown Line (DTL) station. According to the Gebiz tender portal, all works are due to be completed by 30 June 2032. Bids for the contract are due by 24 April 2023, however this date is usually extended several times from past experience. It may take a few months after for the contract to be awarded. As such, construction should commence some time within 2024.
