As with other Cross Island Line (CRL) phase 2 contracts awarded in 2023, works are ramping up ahead of the area undergoing massive changes at West Coast station site. Currently still occupied by the former Tanglin Secondary School, which moved out after a final year on the campus, the contract will see the demolition of the existing buildings before construction can commence.

Demolition work is likely to follow suit to prepare the site for the construction of the future station. Other enabling works such as soil investigations, trial trenching and tree felling will also begin shortly before full scale construction commences. Similar to contract CR208 at Clementi, pre-construction surveys are likely to take place to assess the existing condition of surrounding structures before work begins as well.
