The first few months of the year have quickly past and we're slowly getting back into the monthly routines. Here's a snapshot update of the Cross Island Line (CRL)'s various stages of construction for the month of February with work started on phase 1 and the Punggol Extension. The latest phase announced - phase 2 - has also begun early works which we also explore in this update.

Phase 1
Works have been going on for some time now with all sites busy creating the earth retaining & stabilising structures (ERSS). This is probably one of the nosier and causes the most disruption as the machinery on site comes into close proximity to other buildings. As excavation takes place for the station's perimeter, nearby buildings may observe some vibration. Once this stage of the works are completed, things generally get quieter and the vibrations may not be as noticeable.

CR3 - Loyang (Contract CR106)
In a nutshell: Diaphragm walling works are continuing to progress. Some parts of the diaphragm wall on the southern end of the station have been uncovered and work on the constructing the capping beam for these is underway.
