works have been completed.

The contract for Tavistock station was awarded together with the contract for the construction of Serangoon North station. However the site at Tavistock appears to be a fair bit more advanced in preparation than that of Serangoon North's. This contract also involves the construction of the line's twin bored running tunnels connecting with both Ang Mo Kio and Serangoon North stations on either side. An intermediate launch shaft near the Central Expressway is to be built to facilitate tunneling works as well.

Preparatory works are so advanced that a road diversion has been implemented to facilitate the construction of the intermediate launch shaft. The eastbound lanes of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 now swing closer to the HDB block, freeing up space within the road median for construction works. The launch shaft here is expected to feature a noise enclosure to reduce noise generated by tunneling works from causing disturbance to the nearby residents.

With 2023 coming soon, the new year brings a whole slew of other works to commence. Site clearing will continue along with hoarding at the main station box. This is likely to be followed by construction work for the earth retaining & stabilising structures. We look forward to continued progress and will be updating as things move along. Do stay tuned as we wrap 2022 up with updates on the various rail construction sites.
